Bird Watching
Big Quill Lake is one and one half miles away. This shore line and the entire lake region is a RAMSAR site and is a Western Hemisphere Shorebird Preserve. This is one of the best birding areas in Western Canada, boasting over 200,000 migratory shore birds as well as twenty five percent of the nesting population of the endangered piping plover.
Quill Lakes Birding Cozy up in two Bed & Breakfasts in the heart of bird watching country! Recognized as one of two Western Hemisphere Shorebird Reserve sites in Canada, the area attracts 34 species of shorebirds including the endangered Piping Plover. Take a tour of a working elk farm, Ducks Unlimited marsh and beautiful birding habitat.
